Job Description:

The World Vegetable Center (WorldVeg) is a nonprofit, independent international agricultural research center headquartered in Taiwan, with regional offices around the world. WorldVeg conducts research and development programs aimed at improving incomes and diets in the developing world by increasing the production and consumption of nutritious and health-promoting vegetables. WorldVeg is looking for a Partnerships Assistant to work in the Office of the Deputy Director General-Partnerships at its headquarters in Shanhua, Tainan, Taiwan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Deputy Director General-Partnerships in establishing the 'Open Science Center.'
  • As directed by the Deputy Director General-Partnerships, communicate and establish connections with universities and advanced research institutes in Taiwan and abroad for partnerships.
  • Develop and manage institutional arrangements, such as MoUs, exchange of acceptance letters, joint committees to plan and oversee partnerships, etc.
  • Coordinate and manage inquiries regarding visiting training at WorldVeg HQ.
  • Manage invitation letters for training courses organized by WorldVeg.
  • Manage logistics for visiting students, trainees, and scientists at WorldVeg HQ.
  • Provide secretarial assistance to the Deputy Director General-Partnerships.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the needs of the Center and as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's or MSc degree, preferably in a foreign language or agriculture-related field.
  • At least one year of work experience in administration-related business.
  • High proficiency in English and Chinese languages, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and word-processing applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and face new challenges.
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams in a multicultural, multinational environment.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in challenging situations.
