MA Program in Linguistics
The eligible students are those who hold a BA degree from domestic or foreign universities or who are about to graduate ( or those with equal studying ability ), and are interested in language research, language teaching or teaching Mandarin Chinese as a second / foreign language.

To strengthen the research foundation in modern linguistics theories and cultivate the ability to observe, analyze and research language.

To emphasize the interdisciplinary ability to employ several languages and communicate cross-culturally, as well as to nurture the ability to teach languages and apply this skill to instruct Mandarin Chinese as a second or foreign language.

Course features : Courses are constructed on theory and tested by practice. Cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to apply knowledge are stressed. The ideas of scholars from other schools, the experience of alumni and the resources of the business world are introduced to the program.

Interdisciplinary studying : Students are encouraged to perform internships in foreign countries to obtain enriching cross-cultural living experiences, to broaden their horizons and to apply their professional skills. Students are motivated to take courses in the realm of teaching Mandarin Chinese as a second / foreign language.
